Complex Family Planning
Our board-certified Complex Family Planning subspecialists provide the full range of family planning services. We care for patients facing abnormal or undesired pregnancies, with expertise in complicated care, and we provide all available birth control options, including long-acting contraceptive devices like IUDs and implants.
We take the time to understand our patients' needs so we can work together with you to develop and individualized care plan.
We offer all types of contraception, or birth control, available in the United States. Choosing a contraceptive method is a personal decision based on effectiveness, ease of use, side effects, reproductive goals, and other lifestyle considerations.
We have expertise in contraception for medically-complex patients, including those with bleeding disorders, allergies, metabolic and neurological conditions, and abnormal anatomy.
We also have experience with difficult device removals, including malpositioned IUDs and deep implants.
You can meet with a member of our team to discuss your individual goals and concerns, and find a birth control method that works for you. We will work with your other doctors to ensure comprehensive care.
There are many reasons why someone might need to end a pregnancy. Our dedicated family planning team includes staff, nurses, and physicians who will make sure you understand all available options and have the information to make the best decision for you.
We work closely with our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team to evaluate and manage pregnancy complications in an evidence-based and patient-centered way.
We perform same-day medical or surgical procedures in the office, two-day procedures in the operating room, and induction terminations in the hospital. We will work with your other doctors to ensure high-quality care.
We offer all abortion services permitted under New York State law.
Sometimes an early pregnancy does not progress normally, and instead results in a miscarriage (also called early pregnancy loss or spontaneous abortion). Miscarriage can present with bleeding and cramping, and is usually diagnosed by ultrasound.
We are experienced in managing potential and confirmed miscarriages, offering all medically recommended options and following you closely for a resolution. We will work with you to find the best treatment option for your personal circumstances, and we will ensure that you have the medical and emotional support you need.
While pregnancies usually implant in the uterus, sometimes a pregnancy implants in the wrong place, which is called an ectopic pregnancy. It most commonly occurs in the fallopian tube, but it can also implant in other locations.
Ectopic pregnancies are very dangerous and require immediate treatment. We are experienced in treating ectopic pregnancies, including those that implant in C-section scars or other rare places.
We will work with you to balance your medical needs and make sure you have support.
