- Since 1982, the Ronald McDonald House, around the corner from the hospital, has served as a "home-away-from-home" for families of children receiving treatment at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. There is also the Ronald McDonald Family Room and Family Suite just steps away from the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. The Family Room provides a warm, comforting space for families to grab a cup of coffee or a snack, or to watch television, play a game, and relax.
- Make-A-Wish Northeast New York
- Since its founding in 1987, Make-A-Wish Northeast New York has been granting wishes of all eligible children ages 2.5 to 18 with a critical illness. The organization works closely with the children's hospital physicians, nurses, social workers, and child life specialists, and the chapter has a regular presence at Albany Medical Center and its clinics.
