Dr. Kaufman specializes in BPH (enlarged prostate), erectile dysfunction and urologic oncology with an emphasis on laparoscopic oncology. A skilled urologic surgeon, he is able to offer patients many advanced, minimally invasive treatment options to address diseases of the kidney, prostate and bladder, including laparoscopic nephrectomies and robotic prostatectomies.
Dr. Kaufman is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a past president of the Northeast Section of the American Urological Association. He is a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials, and has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is also an associate professor of surgery and an assistant professor of physiology and cell biology at Albany Medical College.

He has more than 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and served as a reviewer for numerous journals including Journal of Urology. Dr. Kaufman is Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Urologic Surgery and Assistant Professor of Physiology & Cell Biology, Department of Physiology at Albany Medical College.
