Dr. Welliver specializes in treating a variety of urologic disorders affecting men. He is fellowship trained in all aspects of men’s health, including the treatment of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, low testosterone, sexual dysfunction, male factor infertility and benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). He is dedicated to ensuring that his patients, as well as their families, understand all aspects of their treatment and care.
After completing his residency at Albany Medical Center, Dr. Welliver went on to fellowship training in men’s health with world-renowned clinicians Tobias Köhler, MD, and Kevin McVary, MD.
He has received awards both regionally and nationally for his research. His areas of special interest include erectile dysfunction, sexual rehabilitation after cancer surgery, optimization of penile prosthetics, factors affecting male fertility, and adverse side effects to common medications used for men with an enlarged prostate.
Dr. Welliver has a warm and thorough approach to patient care. He enjoys developing longstanding relationships with his patients and individualizing care to meet each patient’s specific needs.

Dr. Welliver's areas of research interest include erectile dysfunction, sexual rehabilitation after cancer surgery, optimization of penile prosthetics/implants, factors affecting male fertility and multiple facets of urinary issues in men.
Dr. Welliver is a dedicated journal article reviewer for multiple urologic journals and won "Best Reviewer" in BPH/sexual function/infertility from the Journal of Urology in 2016 and 2019. He is involved with the American Urologic Association at a national level as a member of the most recent BPH Guidelines committee and as a part of the public media committee. He is also a section editor for the American Urologic Association Core Curriculum and has authored the chapter on surgical BPH in Campbell-Walsh Urology (the “bible of Urology”) in the last few editions.
