Dr. Zysik is the medical director of the Labor and Delivery unit. She specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology with areas of clinical interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, gynecologic ultrasound, complex contraception and family planning, infertility, sexual dysfunction, and adolescent and pediatric gynecology. She approaches all patients as partners in their healthcare and provides a comprehensive approach to the improvement of their health and wellbeing utilizing the most up-to-date evidence-based medicine. She also coordinates the gynecologic ultrasound unit for the department.
Originally from northern New York, Dr. Zysik is happy to be back in upstate serving the community she grew up in. She is dedicated to resident and medical student education and assists in the coordination of the resident education curriculum. She feels that encouraging medical students and residents to become thoughtful, thorough, and knowledgeable physicians who provide exceptional care is one of the most important aspects of her position at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Zysik completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine.
