Dr. Monrroy Prado has a special interest in hypertension, glomerular disease, vascular access, and onconephrology.

A native of Peru, he earned his medical degree from National University of San Agustin College of Medicine in Arequipa, Peru. He completed residencies in internal medicine and nephrology, and a fellowship in interventional nephrology, at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine–Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla.

Board certified in nephrology, he joined Albany Medical Center in 2015 and has served as program director of Albany Medical College's nephrology fellowships since 2020. He has received multiple awards demonstrating his commitment to trainee education and has also been honored by the Champion Program for his excellence in patient care.

Dr. Monrroy Prado is a member of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology and the American Society of Nephrology. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
