Dr. Maria Kataki is director of The Alzheimer’s Center at Albany Medical Center, a Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease.
A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Kataki specializes in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Dr. Kataki completed a fellowship in behavioral neurology at the Houston VA Medical Center and a fellowship in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas, where she also completed a neurology residency. She completed her first residency and received a doctoral degree in functional neuroimaging in dementia at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, Medical School.
A member of the American Academy of Neurology and the International Alzheimer’s Association, Dr. Kataki is an active invited speaker and has authored or coauthored dozens of articles, book chapters and other abstracts. She has participated as an investigator in 140 clinical trials, including several funded by the National Institute of Health or industry foundations. She is fluent in English, Greek, and French.
