Dr. Miller specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She completed her residency training at Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. As a physiatrist or rehab specialist, she can guide patients on stretching and exercise programs, assistive devices and technologies, and other resources which may help them remain as functional as possible. She can optimize medication management for spasticity and perform Botox injections in the office to target tight muscles.
Within her field, she has focused training in the clinical assessment and ultrasound diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions. As a physiatrist, she can recommend rehabilitation and non-surgical treatment options for these conditions. She performs diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections in the office.
Dr. Miller is the director of the Multidisciplinary Spasticity Clinic, a monthly clinic for pediatric patients with cerebral palsy and other neurologic conditions causing increased muscle tone. In this setting, Dr. Miller works collaboratively with neurosurgery, orthopedics, orthotics, and physical therapy to coordinate complex patient care needs.
Dr. Miller also directs an amputee clinic where she follows more than 200 amputee patients. She works closely with the makers of artificial limbs. During her residency training in Boston, she helped amputees following the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15, 2013. She is passionate about optimizing prosthetic equipment needs to maximize patients’ activity level.
