Dr. Shaikh serves as the academic nephrologist at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at Nassau University Medical Center, East Meadow, N.Y. He specializes in the care of adults with a variety of acute and chronic kidney diseases and hypertension. Dr. Shaikh is board certified in both nephrology and internal medicine.

He has a particular interest and expertise in the evaluation and management of pre- and post-kidney transplant patients. He has completed additional distinct training, including a transplant nephrology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Shaikh is an outstanding academician and has authored multiple abstracts and papers.
