Dr. Inouye specializes in reconstructive urology – surgery that restores normal function by repairing, rerouting or recreating parts of the urinary tract or reproductive organs – with a focus on urethral and ureteral strictures, male incontinence, and erectile dysfunction. He has a special interest in improving the quality of life for cancer survivors from the symptoms, pain, and distress that can develop during or after cancer therapy. This includes addressing severe side effects of cancer treatments such as rectourethral fistula and end-stage irradiated bladders.
Dr. Inouye is fellowship trained in reconstructive urology and genitourinary cancer survivorship. His research focuses on the mechanisms and natural history of the pathology within reconstructive urology and genitourinary cancer survivorship. He was awarded the Urology Care Foundation Resident Research Award and continues to present his work nationally and internationally. He is also a member of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr. Inouye understands that patients who come to a reconstructive urology and cancer survivorship practice have already had an arduous road, and he appreciates the opportunity to care for each unique individual.
Dr. Inouye sees patients at Albany Med's South Clinical Campus, Albany Med Clifton Park and Glens Falls Hospital. When not working, he can be found exploring the Capital Region with his wife and two sons.
