Dr. Rutter’s clinical interests include primary care obstetrics and women's health, and she practices all aspects of Family Medicine, including inpatient care and outpatient procedures. She is a graduate of Albany Medical College. At Albany Medical College, she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she served as Chief Resident. She led a medical mission trip to the Engeye Health Center in Uganda, an opportunity available to Albany Medical Center residents. Dr. Rutter has a strong passion for medical education and is enthusiastic about teaching both residents and medical students, as well as participating in medical education and medical education research on a national level. She has been an active member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) and is the current Chair of the Medical Student Education Committee which offers her the opportunity to serve on STFM’s Board of Directors. She also serves as STFM’s representative to the Alliance for Clinical Education.
