Local Endocrinologist Dr. Susan Demarest Joins Albany Medical Center

Endocrinologist Susan Demarest, MD, who has been practicing in the Capital Region for nearly a decade, has joined Albany Medical Center, a member of the Albany Med Health System.

Dr. Demarest specializes in providing gender-affirming hormone therapies for adult transgender patients. She also sees patients with general endocrine disorders and has a special interest in the technology used to help manage diabetes, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.

Dr. Demarest completed a fellowship in clinical endocrinology and a residency in internal medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., where she also earned her medical degree. Board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, Dr. Demarest most recently practiced with Community Care Endocrinology.
