Anesthesiology Chair Named Co-Editor for Leading Reference Publication
Stephanie Jones, MD, FASA, chair of the Albany Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology, is the co-editor of the soon-to-be-released Stoelting’s Anesthesia and Co-Existing Disease, 8th Edition (Elsevier). The publication is used by anesthesia providers at all levels as a guide to successfully managing or avoiding complications that develop due to pre-existing conditions. The first edition of the well-known publication was released in 1983 with subsequent editions providing new, updated and relevant medical information to the anesthesiology community.
Along with serving as co-editor with Roberta Hines, MD, Chair Emeritus of the Yale School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology, Dr. Jones co-authored a chapter in the publication focusing on obesity and malnutrition.
In her role at Albany Medical Center, Dr. Jones leads the Department of Anesthesiology, which provides patients of all ages with general, regional and monitored anesthesia options 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department plays a vital role as part of the team serving the Capital Region’s only Level 1 trauma center.
The eighth edition of Stoelting’s Anesthesia and Co-Existing Disease is due to be released October 7, 2021.
