Albany Medical Center Welcomes Gynecologic Surgeon Thomas Cacciola
Local gynecologic surgeon, Thomas Cacciola, MD, has joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and will also serve as assistant professor at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Cacciola focuses on complex gynecology. As a minimally invasive surgeon, he is well trained in advanced laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgeries for the treatment of endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, chronic pelvic pain, transgender medicine, placenta accreta spectrum disorder, and fertility-sparing surgery.
“I believe in looking at the bigger picture and learning about my patients beyond the condition they’re dealing with.” said Dr. Cacciola. “I’ll take the time to listen and hear your concerns, recommend and implement a plan of care we agree upon, and involve a multidisciplinary team when needed.”
Dr. Cacciola is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Cacciola completed his residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA, where he was named Medical Student Teacher of the Year twice. Dr. Cacciola is no stranger to the Capital Region, he has practiced locally for several years, and he earned his medical degree at Albany Medical College after completing the Siena College/Albany Medical College Humanities in Medicine Program.
He is seeing patients at Albany Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 391 Myrtle Ave., Albany. For more information, call the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at 518-262-4942.
