Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital
We are the region's only children's hospital, and part of the Albany Med Health System.
Established in 1986, the children's hospital is a 125-bed facility devoted to the medical needs of infants, children and adolescents.
It is the referral center for all seriously sick and injured children from 25 counties in upstate New York and western New England.
It's staffed by more than 140 physicians trained in 40 subspecialties and more than 400 pediatric nurses, therapists, social workers, child-life specialists and more who provide the unique care needed by children and teens.
Pediatric Emergency
The Massry Family Children's Emergency Center is the only one of its kind in northeastern New York and western New England, available to all children in need of emergency care. If your child is experiencing an emergency, call 911.
Pediatric Oncology
The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders is the only provider of care for children and teens with cancer and blood disorders in the Capital Region. We treat more than 1,000 children each year.
PICU & NICU
We maintain round-the-clock pediatric emergency services and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the highest level (IV) facility, and includes a Perinatal Center that provides care for critically sick and premature infants.

The Ronald McDonald House
Albany Medical Center is proud to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region!
Since 1982, the Ronald McDonald House in Albany has provided a home away from home for the families of seriously ill children receiving care at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. The house is located right around the corner from the hospital, on South Lake Ave., making it easy for families to go back and forth to the hospital.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room and Family Suite is located on the children's hospital inpatient floor, D7, provides families with a place to relax or get a snack in a warm, home-like atmosphere.
For more information about the Ronald McDonald House call 518-438-2655.
Patient & Family Advisory Council
The Patient and Family Advisory Council, formed in February 2020, is a group of parents of former and current patients with a broad range of experiences across the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. Members meet monthly, either virtually or in-person, to provide insights for improving programs and services, quality initiatives, policies, marketing and communications strategies, and more. Each meeting features different guest speakers - including providers, staff members and community organization leaders - to discuss an area of work and get feedback from the council members.
