Columbia Memorial Health offers outpatient PT/OT at this location and at Greene Medical Arts in Catskill.

Physical Therapy at Columbia Memorial Health uses a range of non-invasive interventions to reduce pain and restore function for individuals dealing with injury, disability, or disease. We work closely with our CMH Bone & Joint Center for patients recovering from orthopedic procedures. Our licensed physical therapists are licensed health care professionals with extensive education in human anatomy and biomechanics, and have a unique appreciation for the workings of the human body. They work together with your doctor to design an individual program to enhance both sports and daily life activities. Depending on each individual patient’s needs, we have a portfolio of tools we pull from to design a personal program for recuperation.

Physical therapy options at CMH:

  • Specialized therapeutic exercises to stretch and strengthen muscles
  • Soft spine adjustments and joint mobilizations to improve range of motion
  • Posture, biomechanics and lifting instructions
  • Therapeutic massage and myofacial release techniques
  • Ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat and cold therapies
  • Step-by-step home program with exercises, rest, ice, and heat
  • Sports medicine and personal training

Occupational Therapy at CMH is a rehabilitation field that helps improve a patient’s quality of functioning. In addition to upper body motion, strength and coordination, occupational therapy encourages rehabilitation through the performance of everyday skills and activities, such as: dressing, eating, grooming, writing with a pen or pencil, cooking, and driving.

Occupational therapy tailored to fit your individual needs, including:

  • Provision of exercises to improve motion and strength of upper extremities
  • Fabrication of custom splints and bracing to support or increase function
  • Improvement of fine motor skills and hand therapy
  • Instruction of clients in adaptive skills for dressing and cooking
  • Recommendation of appropriate assistive devices to improve function
  • Treatment of disorders of the inner ear and vertigo
