Meeting The Needs Of Our Community
The Columbia Memorial Health Department of Psychiatry meets the mental health needs of our community by providing high-quality, comprehensive, multidisciplinary, patient-centered psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care.
Inpatient Care
For individuals in need of acute psychiatric care, we provide intensive treatment in our secure, state-of-the-art, 22-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. The unit is staffed 24/7 with experienced and highly trained health care professionals across multiple disciplines to meet the psychosocial and medical needs of patients during their stay.
Treatment modalities include an intensive group therapy program, individual and family therapy, and milieu therapy, as well as medication management where indicated. A determination that admission to the psychiatric unit is appropriate or necessary is made following a thorough and comprehensive evaluation by our psychiatric screening staff in consultation with the psychiatrist on call. This assessment takes place in a secure and separate area in the Emergency Department.
Outpatient Care
The Columbia Memorial Health Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Center has offices in Hudson and Catskill.
The outpatient clinical staff is comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, as well as licensed social workers and mental health counselors. We provide individual therapy, couples and family therapy, and outpatient group therapy. We also provide therapy for children over age 10.
Our clinicians collaborate with our psychiatrists and primary care providers in the community. We hold the health, safety, and privacy of our clients in the highest regard as we collaborate with them to enhance wellbeing in all areas of their lives.
