Postdoctoral Researcher Earns First Place for Infographic
An infographic created by Leo Frasson-Reis, PhD, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics at Albany Medical College, won first place in the Sleep Research Society’s annual infographic contest.
This year’s theme was “How to Maximize Sleep When You Can’t Control Your Work Schedule.”
Designed for both sleep neuroscientists and a broader audience, Dr. Frasson-Reis’s infographic offers tips on napping strategically and adjusting sleep-wake rhythms for those who have unpredictable work schedules. It also includes information about the impact of diet and exercise on sleep and advises when to seek professional help.
To create the infographic, Dr. Frasson-Reis drew on his research on sleep hygiene in the Sleep and Sleep Disorders Laboratory of Irma Rukhadze, PhD and Viktor Fenik, PhD, as well as his previous participation in Sleep Research Society conferences.
“The ultimate goal is to increase awareness about the importance of sleep for physical and mental health,” said Dr. Frasson-Reis.
He added that he chose the Corporate Memphis art style, “for its engaging blend of bold colors and geometric shapes, making the infographic visually accessible and the information clear.”
