Specimen Collection: Peripheral blood – lavender top tube (EDTA). Bone marrow – preferably one sodium heparin green top or red top tube from sodium heparinized syringe or K2EDTA lavender top tube. Fresh tissue – preferred: place sample in container with flow cytometry transport media; also acceptable: container with saline. Fluid – collect in a sterile cup/container. Minimum Volume: 2 mL
Handling Instructions for Offsite Areas: Transport and maintain specimens at 2-8ºC. Specimen must be received within 72 hours of collection. CSF - transport and maintain at 2-8ºC ASAP.
Reference Values: Complete panel will include: CD45, CD2, CD3 (surface and cytoplasmic), CD4, CD5, CD7, CD8, CD13, CD19, CD22, CD34, CD38, CD56, TRBC1, cyCD79a, cyMPO and nTdT. Additional reflex testing will be performed if necessary.
