Suhas Ganguli, MD, is the Division Chief of Pediatric Rheumatology and has been appointed associate professor of pediatrics at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Ganguli is a board-certified pediatric rheumatologist who treats children and young adults up to the age of 22. He specializes in diagnosing and treating autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases including juvenile arthritis, lupus, dermatomyositis, vasculitis, fibromyalgia or amplified musculoskeletal pain syndromes, hypermobility syndromes, and recurrent fever syndromes. Dr. Ganguli is also experienced in performing intra-articular steroid injections into the joints for arthritis.
Dr. Ganguli comes to Albany Medical Center from New Jersey, where he worked at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Old Bridge Medical Center, and Hackensack University Medical Center, all part of Hackensack Meridian Health.
Dr. Ganguli completed a pediatric rheumatology fellowship at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and a pediatrics residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York. He also completed a pediatrics residency and earned his medical degree at Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research and University of Calcutta, India respectively . Dr. Ganguli speaks English, Bengali, and Hindi.
Dr. Ganguli is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Section of Rheumatology, the American College of Rheumatology, and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance. He has a strong interest in medical education, quality improvement and patient safety . He has won several teaching awards in his career, including Subspecialist of the Year (2023-2024) at the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Hackensack Meridian Health. He has presented at regional, national, and international rheumatology conferences and published several peer reviewed articles. Dr. Ganguli has also led the pilot validation study of a patient reported outcome tool, the Lupus Impact Tracker, for the first time in the pediatric population.
Dr. Ganguli enjoys spending time with his wife, a faculty member in Albany Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and their daughter. They love to travel, try new cuisines, and meet new people.
