Radiation Oncology Saratoga
Care Close To Home
Saratoga Hospital’s Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center provides advanced radiation oncology treatments with a commitment to excellence and great care for each patient.
Patients at the Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center benefit from the same advanced technology available elsewhere in the region, including intensity modulated radiation therapy ( IMRT ), a dual energy linear accelerator with multi-leaf collimation, a high-speed multi-slice CT simulator, and an image-guided tumor localization system.
These technologies deliver high doses of radiation with as little damage as possible to surrounding tissues, enabling treatment of a wide range of cancers for the Saratoga community.
Many of the amenities – from the soothing artwork in the ceilings of treatment rooms to the Saratoga Hospital Guild Circle of Care Resource Center – are the result of input from cancer survivors, their friends and family members, and others whose lives have been touched by this disease.
Northeastern Radiation Oncology, PLLC, offers our patients a team of board-certified physicians providing services at the center.
Services
A high-speed multi-slice CT simulator can return high-resolution imaging with speed and accuracy.
We offer two dual energy linear accelerators with multi-leaf collimation, or LINAC devices, which treat any part of the body with external beam radiation targeted tumors from multiple angles.
External beam radiation therapy uses a machine that directs high-energy rays from outside the body to the targeted area or tumor.
Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) uses linear accelerators to treat both cancerous and noncancerous tumors. This technology allows for precise delivery of radiation doses, which effectively minimizes the dose to surrounding normal tissues, safely and precisely.
Stereotactic technology allows us to target tumors more precisely and treat lesions in places that were previously off limits due to risks to normal tissues.
Systemic radiation utilizes radioactive drugs that can be delivered orally or intravenously to treat certain types of cancer. Our radiation oncologists provide the oral version of this treatment.
With our image-guided tumor localization system, radiation oncologists can provide treatment directly at the tumor site.
Accredited Facility
The Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center is accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology.
