She has published articles in the prosthetic literature review as well as in the American Journal of Orthopaedics and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. Dr. Shin was involved in early studies of volar plating of distal radius (wrist) fractures and has a special interest in carpal tunnel syndrome. She has performed thousands of endoscopic carpal tunnel releases and has also been trained to do percutaneous Dupuytren’s aponeurotomy by Dr. Charles Eaton in addition to using Xiaflex.
Dr. Shin strongly believes that an informed patient is the doctor’s best partner. Her philosophy regarding treatment is that the more patients understand about their injury or condition, the better equipped they are to heal. Therefore, she likes to take the time to explain and educate as well as treat during an office visit.
