Dr. Huz currently serves as the attending vitreoretinal surgeon at the Albany Medical Center Ophthalmology clinic.
An investigator in several national clinical trials, he works with residents and fellows on various research endeavors. He was selected by his peers as a Castle Connolly Rising Star in 2021, and has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2022.
A native of the Capital Region, Dr. Huz completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Albany Medical College. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, where he served as chief resident during his final year and received awards for both clinical and academic excellence. He completed a combined internal medicine and general surgery internship at New York Hospital Queens, a teaching affiliate of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine, where he was an active participant in the volunteer organization Unite For Sight providing vision screenings for New York City’s underserved populations. He graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University with degrees in neuroscience and biology.
