Dr. Sharma, a specialist in adult endocrinology, treats patients for a range of endocrine-related conditions including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, diseases of the thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands, and osteoporosis.

His clinical and research interests are in the management of diabetes, thyroid nodules and neoplasia, pituitary gland disorders and osteoporosis.

Dr. Sharma has a particular interest in student and resident education. He is the elective course director for the fourth-year medicine elective in endocrinology and an associate theme leader for the second-year endocrinology course. He also serves as the subspecialty coordinator for the internal medicine residency rotations for the division.
