Specialized Care Center For Adolescents & Young Adults
The Specialized Care Center for Adolescents and Young Adults located at Albany Medical Center offers medical and support services for youth living with, or at risk of, contracting HIV/AIDS. The program supports individuals age 13-24. Young people living with HIV are offered the latest treatments, including PrEP, a pill that helps prevent HIV, as well as nursing, mental health, and case management support to meet the challenges of living with a chronic illness.
The center also offers HIV/STI testing.
Our staff is sensitive to the unique challenges that young people of all backgrounds face and the care we provide is personalized to meet individual needs.

PrEP, or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, is medication that can help prevent HIV.
You should consider PrEP if you are at risk of getting HIV, if your partner has HIV, if you have unprotected sex and don’t know your partner’s HIV status, if you are having unprotected sex with multiple partners, or if you are using injection drugs not prescribed to you.
